Here’s the Heritage Day schedule of events. The fun starts on Sunday with the Rotary-sponsored road race in the morning and pumpkin lighting in the event. Francis Edward “Frank” Moran, 90, was born in West Roxbury to pre deceased Leslie (Palais) and J. Francis Moran. Frank grew up during the great depression. Having lost his own father at an early age to the tuberculosis epidemic of the 1920’s, Frank found companionship and mentoring in the Boy Scouts of America. Nestled behind Pilgrim Church, the tiny white building – which used to be a one-room schoolhouse located at the corner of Flagg and Deerfoot Roads – holds treasures of Southborough’s past. In 2006 Cavalier Coach took over the former Gulbankians bus route the ran from downtown Southborough to Boston. Since state subsidies for the bus line ended in 2008, the company has struggled to keep the route going, and later this month they plan to end it for good.
