Obituary: Margherite Nenni Beck – November 27, 2011

BECK Margherite Nenni, cherished wife of 65 years of Robert “Bob” M. Beck, Sr., passed away on Sun, Nov 27, 2011.

Born on Aug 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Finislao Nenni and Amalia Nenni of Poughkeepsie, NY. She was raised in Poughkeepsie where she met Bob and married him on Sep 29, 1946. In 1957, Margherite and Bob, who worked for IBM, moved to Lexington, KY. Margherite worked as a real estate agent and was an active member of the Cathedral of Christ the King and the Lexington Country Club. She had a passion for dancing and spent many enjoyable evenings on the dance floor with her husband. Bob and Margherite traveled the world together and, after Bob’s retirement, the couple spent time relaxing in Florida.

First and foremost in her life was her love for her family. Margherite will forever be remembered by her family for her sweet nature, constant support and the happy home that she created. She devoted her life to caring for her children, Robert (Kathy) M. Beck, Jr. and Deborah (Bobby) Beck Owens, who survive her and who brought her innumerable moments of joy and a lifetime of pride. In addition, she cared deeply for her grandchildren, Ashley (Chapman) Owens Hopkins, Meredith Martin Owens, Caroline Chapman Beck and Jacqueline Karrick Beck, who will never forget their grandmother’s comforting presence or her ability to make them smile. Margherite is also survived by her adored sister, Virginia (Claude) Nenni Davis, of Southborough, MA and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Phillip and Abel Nenni.

Funeral services will be at 11am Thu, Dec 1, 2011 at the Cathedral of Christ the King. The burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm until 8pm Wed, Nov 30, 2011 at Milward – Broadway. The family suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
