Annual flag retirement ceremony on Friday

Every year on or about Flag Day, Veterans of VFW Post 3276 and Legion Post 161 hold a flag retirement ceremony in Southborough’s Rural Cemetery. During the ceremony, worn flags collected from residents, as well as ones from the cemetery that were replaced this past Memorial Day, will be retired by ritual burning. Sunday’s road race nets $8K for Boston Marathon bombing victims (with PHOTOS)
A couple hundred runners and walkers pounded the pavement in Southborough on Sunday to help raise more than $8K for victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. The 5K race, which started and ended at Trottier Middle School, was organized by Southborough-owned FitStudio 28, with help from the Southborough Recreation Department and other local businesses.
