Breaking: Accident closes Route 9 in both directions

I don’t have much detail on this yet, but word has it a car accident has closed both directions of Route 9 somewhere near Deerfoot Road. Apparently, the accident caused power lines to fall across both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 9.
Westbound traffic is being diverted at Parkerville Road. I don’t know how

Just in time for Easter, a sweet new shop

I went down to the post office last week and noticed a new shop in the plaza. CandiLicious, a gift and candy store, has been open for about three weeks. It’s owned by a husband and wife team from Hopkinton.
They have candy, of course.

And build-your-own bears.

And a spot for birthday parties.

Lightning strikes twice in Southborough

When it rains it pours. At least that was the case for the Southborough Fire Department last week – both literally and figuratively. The wild weather that rolled through on Friday led to calls for two apparent lightning strikes. Those calls, along with a couple other incidents, made for a busy week.

The week in town government

Bartolini Builders will go before the Planning Board tonight to seek permits for three 3-story, 26,400-square-foot office buildings at 276, 278 and 280 Turnpike Road. If Google Maps is correct, 276-280 Turnpike Road is the undeveloped land on Route 9 eastbound just west of Deerfoot Road.
