When Lieutenant John Mauro Sr. first joined the Southborough Fire Department, there were no full-time firefighters. It was solely an on-call job. That was in the 1960′s. Mauro has been with the fire department ever since, and he’s seen a lot of changes.

Don’t forget to put your Scouting For Food bag out by your mailbox by 9:00 am on Saturday. Scouts will be by to pick up the bags and deliver them to Pilgrim Church where volunteers will sort and pack up the food.

Reminder: Flu clinic on Saturday

Southborough will hold a flu clinic on Saturday for all Southborough residents aged 12 and up. The clinic takes place at the Senior Center (9 Cordaville Road) from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Southborough firefighters raising funds

You may get a phone call from the Southborough Permanent Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 3129 sometime in the next few weeks. They recently kicked off their annual fundraising drive, and are looking for donations. Money raised helps support youth sports, the firefighters’ scholarship fund, and the Southborough Firefighter Relief Fund.
