Earlier this year we learned the longstanding Friends of the Southborough Library was in danger of folding due to lack of participation. Southborough residents heeded the call for new members and the group had a big enough turnout at their June meeting to elect new officers.

Southborough Library collecting feedback from teens and ‘tweens

The Southborough Library is planning a new space just for ‘tweens and teens, and they’re looking for input. The library developed a survey to help determine everything from why young adults use the library (or don’t), to what services they’d like to see more of, to the sort of look and feel an area geared toward young adults should have.

The Friends of the Southborough Library has put out several calls for new members in recent months, and apparently the situation has become dire. The venerable organization now stands on the brink, and without new active members to lead the group into the future, it may be forced to disband.

The C/W MARS library consortium, of which the Southborough Library is a member, is undertaking a big project this weekend. They’re upgrading to a new version of electronic catalog system called Evergreen.
