Bridge over Sudbury River to be replaced … eventually

The Rte 85 bridge that crosses the Sudbury River on the border between Southborough and Hopkinton is on a list of nearly 200 bridges that will be replaced or repaired over the next few years. The work is part of an 8-year $3 billion plan to improve the condition of bridges across the state. The plan was filed this week by the state Executive Office of Transportation

But don’t start worrying about traffic issues just yet. The project isn’t slated to start until the fall of 2011. The preliminary cost estimate for the project is over $2.6 million.

See the Mass Highway Department website for a complete list of planned bridge work.
