Southborough Scouts collected nearly 10,000 pounds of food for the Southborough Food Pantry this weekend. Food pantry volunteer Marge Coldwell sent along these words of thanks to all who participated.

A very big thank you from the Food Pantry to the Scouts of Southborough, their leaders, and the people of Southborough who supported the Scouts and the Food Pantry yesterday!

By the end of the collection day there were almost 10,000 more pounds of non-perishable food for use by the Pantry in the coming year.

Not enough can be said for the amazing work of Marijke Munsiff and Andrew Seto and their Scouting for Food Committee: Linda Petry, Laura Coldwell-Stewart, Regina McAuliffe, Sharon Shoemaker, and Patricia Pacewicz. The work that went in to organizing and supervising this event was beautiful.

It seems like there are ever more volunteers who step forward when needed. Southborough and its residents are exceptional.

Thank you to all those whose helped by putting put their food bags. Thank you to all those who helped sort and store the food.

THANK YOU!

While it’s the biggest food drive of the year for the Southborough Food Pantry, it’s not your only opportunity to donate. For more information about the food pantry, who it serves, and how to donate, see this post.
