Sports news from St. Mark’s: Ice hockey gets a big win, field hockey player honored

It’s no surprise the folks at St. Mark’s are proud of their sports teams, and the Athletic Department there sent along this update on the accomplishments of their student athletes this week. They also included a schedule of upcoming home games for those of you who might want to take in a match.

Team of the Week: Varsity Boys’ Hockey
The St. Mark’s Varsity boys’ hockey team beat a strong ISL opponent in Middlesex last week, defeating the Zebras 4-3 in overtime. Although plagued with injuries and illness, the comefrom-behind victory was a strong performance by the Lions as they displayed resilience and determination. Ryan Medeiros ‘13 scored the game-winning goal in overtime and Ryan Ferland ‘16 had a solid performance in the net for St. Mark’s.

Congratulations to Alexa Mackintire ‘14 Field Hockey All-American
Alexa Mackintire ’14, a V Former from Shrewsbury, MA, was just named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America First Team. Only 16 high school athletes in the entire United States earn this distinction. Congratulations, Alexa!
