Wednesday, November 13, 2013:

  • Veteran’s Day Recognition Luncheon (12pm) @ Senior Center: Southborough Songsters and Woodward School 3rd graders will perform patriotic songs. Veteran Steve Whynot will perform the Color Guard Ceremony. Lunch will be provided. Suggested Donation of $6 for Friends of the Council of the Aging and $10 for non-members.

  • Southborough Gardener’s Holiday Boutique (10:00 am) @ Pilgrim Church Parish Hall:  Annual fundraiser includes the traditional floral design presentation and drawing. This year’s theme is “New Style for Old Traditions”. Refreshments will be served. Proceeds to benefit Town beautification, education and scholarships. Tickets $5.00 in advance; $10.00 at the door. For advance tickets contact Joyce Macknauskas, Program Chair 508-485-8959.
  • Trottier Middle School Early Dismissal
  • Author night – Craig Miller (7:00 -8:00 pm) @ Southborough Public Library: The author of This is How it Feels: A Memoir – Attempting Suicide and Finding Life will discuss his book and life experiences. Free to the public, no registration required.

Friday, November 15, 2013:

  • Trottier Middle School Early Dismissal
  • Jewelry Class for seniors (9:30 – 11:00 am) @ Colonial Gardens: Bring your old or unused beads to make a new bracelet or pair of earings. The workshop will explore different types of beads, stringing materials, types of closures, color and design. Suggested Donation: $3.00; Please pre-register at the front desk or call (508) 229-4453.
  • Free Matinee – The Heat (12 pm) @ Southborough Senior CenterBuddy-cop action-comedy – starring Melissa McCarthy as a lowbrow Boston detective and Sandra Bullock as an ambitious FBI agent. Rated R for strong language. Running time 1 hr. 56 min. The room will be open at 11:30 for anyone who wants to bring their lunch
  • Basic Rights in Special Education (6:00 – 9:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School Library : The workshop provides families with an introduction to their rights and responsibilities.
    • Woodward Ice Cream Social and Basket Raffle (6:30 – 8:00 pm) @ Woodward School: 10th Annual fundraiser for Woodward SOS. Includes Make-Your-Own-Sundaes with Cold Stone Creamery ice cream and raffle of themed baskets of items contributed by students, families, teachers and staff.

  • Trottier SOS Dance (7:00 – 9:30 pm) @ Trottier Middle School: A chaperoned dance for 7th and 8th grade students

Saturday, November 16, 2013:

  • Writers Group (2:00 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: The kickoff meeting for a new group to be held monthly at the Library.
  • Teen Space Anniversary Celebration (2:30 – 3:30 pm) Come celebrate the one year anniversary of the new young adult space. Light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Southborough Library.
