Events this week: Minstrel Man, Holiday Concerts, and Christmas Spectacular (Updated)

Updated (12/15/14 1:55 pm): Just discovered that Assabet is also holding a concert this Thursday. It features a sing-a-long with songs from Frozen and is free for children 12 and under.

Tuesday, December 16, 2014:

  • Technology Days (2:15 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Please join a group of Algonquin students for an hour of technology assistance. These eager students will answer all of your questions about cellphones, IPads, Laptops, E-readers and more. Please write your questions down ahead of time so that everything can be answered.

Wednesday, December 17, 2014:

  • Minstrel Man (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Bruce Andrews returns to perform holiday songs and entertain the crowd. Performance preceded by a luncheon. See dedicated post for details.

Thursday, December 18, 2014:

  • ARHS Holiday Concert (7:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School: Holiday music performed by all of Algonquin’s Choral groups and Orchestra. The evening starts in The Rotunda with performances by a cappella groups – Algoncapella and Ladies First. Next up are small chamber groups and a jazz combo in the lobby of the auditorium, where student art will be on display. At 7:30, the concert in the auditorium begins featuring our orchestra and choral groups. The finale invites all alum to join the orchestra and chorus on the stage to sing White Christmas. Tickets are $5 for general public and $3 for students/seniors.
  • AVRT Holiday Concert  (7:00 pm) @ Assabet Valley Regional Technical High auditorium:  The student band and chorus will perform holiday favorites, rock and jazz ensemble, and all the songs from FROZEN. Admission is only $3 at the door for adults, children 12 and under are free. Parents are encouraged to bring young FROZEN fans to sing along!

Saturday, December 20, 2014:

  • SkyRise Christmas Spectacular (2:00 -4:00 pm & 4:30 – 6:30 pm) @ 8 Church St, Westborough: SkyRise Children’s Theater’s 2nd annual Christmas festival. Includes a 20 minute show featuring Skyrise Directors and the Grinch. There is also: a meet and greet with Santa, ornament making & Christmas crafts, cookie decorating, face painting, games and more. $20 per child (Adults free). Please arrive 15 minutes before registered start time. Pre-registration required (limited availability)
