The Rec Department surprised me this summer by working to make the summer half day camps even more fun. Some of you who signed kids up early might be excited to learn about unexpected, additional fun planned. And those of you with young kids who haven’t registered may want to do that soon.

As in past years, each week offers special themes and activities. And Woodward campers get to go to St. Mark’s for a weekly swim. But this summer, some special (optional) free field trips have been thrown in.

Next week, it’s Finn campers’ turn. The kiddies will enjoy a trip to romp around Playtown Express. For both Finn and Woodward, the July 11th – 15th Under the Sea theme features a story teller and Live Sea Creature workshop.

Online registration for next week closes tomorrow (Thursday, July 7th) – so act quickly.

The following Monday, July 18th, kicks off the extremely popular Carnival Week. Activities include inflatable bouncies, water slides, face painting, tye dye T-shirts, and carnival treats. Woodward campers will also get to visit Fay’s Discovery Camp.

The week of July 25th, Aloha week features a “Polynesian Fusion Performance”, limbo contest and hula dancing. At Woodward, kids will can also splash down the water slide.

The next big field trips are scheduled for the week of August 1st. Finn campers can again head to Playtown Express. Woodward campers get to tuba slide at Ski Ward and take part in a Fay Discovery Camp activity.

The final week of the summer is August 8th. No need for field trips this week, since the fun is coming to them. Expect Pony Rides, an Animal Petting Zoo, drawing “Beasties” with Mr. LaChance. Plus, a return of the Woodward water slide.
