Southborough Democrats seeking delegates to help advance candidates to state primaries

Southborough Democrats (and those who would like to become one) are invited to the annual caucus. The Southborough Democratic Committee will elect delegates to this summer’s state convention.*

This year delegates will be helping to approve candidates to run in the Gubernatorial primaries, among other positions.

Here are the details:

Southborough Democrats to Elect Delegates to State Convention

Southborough Democrats will be choosing delegates at a caucus on March 3. 2018, for this year’s Democratic endorsing convention in Worcester. Delegates and alternates will have a chance to participate in advancing candidates to the state primaries for several constitutional offices. Among the contested statewide offices this year will be Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Secretary of State. The convention also provides a chance to meet fellow Democrats from across the state, attend workshops, and hear addresses by state and national leaders in the party.

The caucus will be held at 10:30 at the Southborough Library, 25 Main St, lower level, Eaton Meeting Room, at 10:30 AM; it should run until approximately 12:30 PM. It is open to all registered Democrats, and participants will be allowed to register or change party registration at the caucus. Pre-registered Democrats who will be 18 by September 18, 2018 may also take part. To run for delegate or alternate, you must be available for a full day on June 2nd to cast votes at the convention. It is also possible to attend the convention as an add-on delegate, volunteer, or guest. If you would like to find out more about the convention, the Massachusetts Democratic Party, or the Southborough Democratic Town Committee, please check https://massdems.org/convention/ or contact Rose Mauro at rddmauro@gmail.com.

*It looks like the Democratic state convention is slated for June 1-2 at the DCU Center.
