  • Professional Development Day: No school for students of Northborough-Southborough public schools.
  • Outdoor Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required.
  • Special Town Meeting (7:00 pm) @ Trottier Middle School: Once or twice per year, Southborough voters act as the legislative body to approve/reject Town spending and new/revised Town bylaws. To read about what is on the Warrant for this special fall meeting (and other details), click here.

  • Outdoor Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required.
  • Senior Songsters (11:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Weekly rehearsal for the singing group open to all area seniors regardless of singing ability. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Tuesday Tech Time (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: Need help with technology? Library staff and teen volunteers will make every effort to assist you. Bring questions about ebooks and electronic resources. This is a drop in event; no registrations necessary. Sessions are limited to no more than 1 hour.

  • Young Scientist STEM Beginnings (10:30 – 11:30 am) @ zoom: This is a free, weekly virtual series for children, ages 3-6 to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments.   • Afternoon Adventures (3:30 – 5:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Students will participate in confidence building team activities, age-appropriate farm chores, animal care, multi-day farm art projects, and more.   • Southborough Gardeners’ Guest Day (9:30 am) @ Pilgrim Church Fellowship Hall, 15 Common St: The public is invited to the annual event with refreshments, raffles, and a flower arrangement demonstration. Tickets are $15 each. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Neary Principal’s Virtual Coffee (10:00 am) @ zoom: For parents of Neary students. In this session, learn about Southborough Youth and Family Services. For details, click here.

  • Outdoor Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: This story time is for children age 0-2 years and their parents or caregivers. Each session will include puppets, stories, and music. No registration required.

  • ARHS Fall Instrumental Concert (7:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional: Algonquin’s annual fall concert featuring the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, String Orchestra, Jazz II, and Jazz I.   • Finn & Woodward Principal’s Virtual Coffee (10:00 am) @ zoom: For parents of Finn and Woodward students. In this session, focused on the new literacy screening tools the district is utilizing, as well as some of the updates to the district’s ELA programming. For details, click here.
  • Preschool Farm Explorer Fridays (9:30 – 10:30 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: For ages 2 years 9 months to 5 years old (and siblings). Your little farm explorers will become fully immersed in what life is like here at Chestnut Hill. Activities may include brushing goats, planting seeds, and other age-appropriate hands-on farm “chores,” as well as art projects and stories. Pre-registration (and fee) required.   • SkyRise Theater presents Rainbow Fish! (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: SkyRise Theater will present a special reading of “Rainbow Fish” followed by a variety of interactive activities  for children ages 2½ and older. To register, click here.
  • The Great Pumpkin Chuck (11:00 am – 3:30 pm in 90 minute windows) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Gather at the farm’s trebuchet (catapult), to watch the farm’s staff launch your old pumpkins! Children will get a kick out of watching their old jack-o-lanterns fly through the air and smash to the ground to become compost. Pre-registration required.   • Historic Walking Tour: Model Farms and Country Seats (1:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Main Street: (Rescheduled from October 23rd) Southborough Historical Society is hosting two tours of the Historic Main Street area this month. This one will focus on the development of West Main Street as an area of vast summer estates for Boston’s wealthy elite. Advanced registration is required and limited.   • “Faiths in Tune” Interfaith Concert (12:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Bay State Commons, 1100 Union St, Westborough: Bring your chairs to a concert including some Southborough residents. The free, outdoor festival will feature devotional songs, skits and hymns by 12 groups representing Baha’i, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh and other diverse faiths. It is hosted by Central MA Connections in Faith and the Westborough Interfaith Clergy. (Rain Date November 14)

Updated (11/2/21 5:21 pm): Chestnut Hill Farm’s Fall Fun Sundays are over, but a special event was added to chuck pumpkins on Saturday.

Updated (11/3/21 1:23 pm): I learned that the Historic Walking Tour that had been scheduled for October 23rd was postponed to this Saturday. There’s still room to sign up.
