May 31 - tracking Covid in Southborough

Cases in the Town and schools continued to decline last week.

This morning, Southborough Public Health reported 44 new/probable cases in the past 8 days with 20 active cases.

101 cases were reported in just over 2 weeks. The average number of cases per day of 3.1 was less than half of the prior period. (Click graphs above and below to enlarge)

May 21 - Southborough Testing and Positivity RatesState data published last Thursday was based on tests taken through the prior Saturday, May 21st. It showed a continued increase in positivity rates. However, it had also showed an increase in positive cases over two weeks, which has clearly declined since the report based on this morning’s Town data.

The most recent Northborough-Southborough Public Schools District Dashboard covered through Wednesday, May 25th. 

May 25 - New cases in NSBORO schools by weekIn one week, 94 cases were reported – 27 from Southborough K-8 and 17 from ARHS.

This month’s uptick had been driven by cases in Southborough schools which are now down.

Last week, the overall count was 16 lower than the prior week. In Southborough schools there were 67% fewer cases than the dashboard from two weeks prior, and Algonquin was also down from last week. Meanwhile, cases actually increased in Northborough K-8 schools.

Average attendance across the district was 93.4%. (That’s up from the prior 91.2% but still lower than the typical 94% rate.)

Daily Counts posted since the Dashboard only covered through through Friday, May 27th. In the 2 days since there were 19 cases– 1 from Southborough K-8 and 8 from ARHS.

May 25 - Testing in NSBORO schoolsSchool testing of symptomatic students/staff identified 5 cases. Last week’s pooled texting of asymptomatic students screened 17 cases.

Participation in that screening has continued to decrease. There was a 13% drop in participation over the past two weeks. Only 23% of the student population took part this week.
