We’re a week away from the 19th Annual Gobble Wobble. Here’s the latest.
The annual race/walk is Friends of Southborough Recreation’s only fundraiser. And since the event is timed for a holiday that’s all about appreciation, here’s a big thanks to the sponsors who are helping to make it a success! (See image right.)
The non-profit is also still seeking more volunteers to help make the feel good fundraiser run smoothly that morning.
All volunteers get free food, a Gobble Wobble shirt, and community service hours. (Plus, that good feeling that comes with helping out!)
And of course, registration is still open for walking and running in the annual event.
Here’s a reminder of those details.
The Gobble Wobble combines a 5K timed race with a 2 mile family-friendly walk. As always, medals will be awarded for overall Male and Female runners, plus by age group.
As has been the case since 2023, No dogs will be allowed on the course.
The annual event is offered to support “community health, togetherness, and spirit”. And proceeds raised by Friends of Rec are used to help support community recreation (facilities, programs, etc.)
The walk and run start at 8:30 am on Thanksgiving (November 27th). Check in begins at 7:00 am that morning inside Trottier Middle School’s gym. (Inside the school is also where you can usually find free refreshments and shirts for sale from past races.)
You can also check in the day prior to get your shirt and bib — 12:00 – 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26th.
Early Bird registration costs are $35 per adult and $25 per child (ages 1-18). (In person registration is also available Thanksgiving morning, though at a higher rate for the 5K run.) An additional discount is available for “Immediate family in same household of 5 or more”.
The course begins and ends outside of Trottier Middle School at 49 Parkerville Road using area roads. For more details or to register, click here.
