Hydrant flushing in Southborough next week – plan for some brown tap water

Next week is the last week of April, and that means it’s time for the annual flushing of the hydrants in Southborough. It will take nearly all week for the DPW to flush all the hydrants in town, and when they’re doing the ones in your neck of the woods, you may notice your tap water running brown. Town Meeting wrap up: Main St committee petition loses by 3 votes, Gulbankians zoning passes and residents nix moves towards Town Manager (Updated)

Last night voters wrapped up 2014 Annual Town Meeting business. It’s not a surprise that emotions were running high on the night that several citizen petitions were addressed. Town Meeting: Barn Hollow Open Space accepted; more controversial items up for vote tonight

Town Meeting had an estimated over 400 in attendance last night. (No official count yet.) Voters easily approved most articles addressed, including a controversial open space acceptance.

Gulbankian Farms: Meet the family and read the petition

As you probably know by now, one of the Warrant Articles up for vote at Wednesday’s Town Meeting is the rezoning of the Gulbankian property at 40 Mount Vickery Road. (If you aren’t aware or need a refresher on this zoning issue, click here for past coverage.)

David Parry: A Locally-Funded Plan for Southborough Town Center (Updated)

David Parry has submitted his outline of a possible local plan to replace the “state plan” for the Main Street Reconstruction Project.

Parry is the leader of the citizen’s petition initiative to form and fund a committee, through Town Meeting, to review the Main Street reconstruction project. In an effort to help people communicate about this project in advance (rather than hearing his case for the first time on Town Meeting floor) I’ve put up a page with his text and visuals.
