Algonquin field hockey team honored for district championship
During a halftime celebration at the Algonquin/St. John’s basketball game on Tuesday, the Algonquin girls field hockey team was honored for its winning season. The team captured the Central District 1 championship title last fall. It was their second championship win in as many years. Cumberland Farms on Route 9 to get an upgrade

The Cumberland Farms on Route 9 west just before the interchange with Route 495 will be getting a new look. Cumberland Farms president, and Southborough resident, Ari Haseotes told the Zoning Board of Appeals last month he plans to raze the current structure and build a new one in its place. Selectmen to interview additional candidates for fire chief
Two new candidates will be considered for the position of Southborough Fire Chief, the screening committee announced today, and both are current members of the Southborough Fire Department. Captain Joseph Mauro and Lieutenant Christian Dano will be interviewed for the position by the Board of Selectmen at a meeting later this month. Southborough’s public safety chiefs went before the Board of Selectmen and Advisory Committee last night to make the case for a level-service budget for next year.
