Mass Pike road work means ramp and lane closures this week
The on-ramp to the Mass Pike westbound from Rte 495 will be closed at night Monday through Thursday this week so the ramp can be widened. The ramp will be closed each evening starting at 8:00 pm and will reopen at 5:00 am. Driving downtown this evening I found Main St. in front of Mauro’s Market blocked by patrol cars. No traffic was being let through. An observer told me a woman had been hit by a car and was taken away by ambulance. Yesterday I posted about options for a new police station. At their meeting on Monday, the Board of Selectmen came out in favor of a single-story plan. Town Planner Vera Kolias sent me preliminary floor plans for the proposed 1-story building. She stressed that they’re just conceptual, and there’s still much work left to do. Southborough man tied to drug operation
A Southborough man was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges he was part of a drug operation outside of Atlanta. The 29-year-old is alleged to have collaborated with street gang members to sell cocaine out of a business he was affiliated with.
