  • Giveaway for Crafters (9:00 am – 3:00 pm) @ Sew Studio, 205 Turnpike Road: The studio is purging their studio of unneeded items. They are inviting in the public to come in and grab fabric scraps and some other sewing supplies. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Read to a Dog (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Children’s Room: Register for kids ages 5+ to get a chance to read to a therapy dog. For details, see related post.

  • Family Walk and Learn: Campfire Building & Cooking (11:00 am – 12:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Get back to nature and back to basics with this series of essential wilderness skill workshops for all ages.   • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Postponed — Second & Third Grade Book Group (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Room: [Note: The Library closed at 1:00 pm due to the weather, so this program will have to be rescheduled.] Monthly Book Club with discussion and activities. For details, see related post.
  • Postponed — Teen Bake-Off (7:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: [Note: The Library closed at 1:00 pm due to the weather, so this program will have to be rescheduled.] Teen bakers ages 12 and up are invited to a bake off.   • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

Wednesday, January 17, 2024

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Learn About Dial-A-Ride (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Pre-registration is required. A representative from the MWRTA will explain how to use the inexpensive, door to door transportation for seniors. Catch Cards will be available.. For details, see related post.
  • Read to a Dog (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Children’s Room: Children preferably ages 5 and up with some reading ability will read to Perla, a certified therapy dog. Each child participating will have a chance to read a short book to Perla. Please register in the Children’s Room (or you can email kivers@southboroughma.com /call 508-485-5031).
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

  • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: A weekly program for ages 0-2 years with their parents/caregivers. Each session will include puppets and music. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Fourth & Fifth Grade Book Group (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Room: Monthly Book Club with discussion and activities. For details, see related post.
  • Postponed to January 25th — Gardens that Work: Winter Sow (6:30 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: This session, members will participate in a workshop in on planting seeds for their required winter cold stratification. Planted containers will be taken home and can be used to start or add to your own Native Plant Pollination Preservation Garden. To register and for details, see dedicated post.

  • Middle School Book Club (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Monthly Book Club for grades 6-8 with discussion and activities. For details, see related post.
  • D&D: Session 1 (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Registration is required for this event for ages 12+ This is part of the series sponsored by Friends of the Southborough Library and led by a Dungeon Master. This session begin a campaign with your pre-made character. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
  • Yoga for grieving mothers (4:00 -5:30 pm) @ Theracopia Therapeautic Wellness Center, 5 Crystal Pond Road: Free yoga, deep meditation and Reiki healing offered to mothers who have lost a child and their families For details, see related post.
