  • D&D Monthly session (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Registration is required for this event for ages 12+ led by a Dungeon Master. For details, see related post.
  • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest kniftting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.

  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • The Book Princess (time) @ Southborough Library: The Book Princess will be visiting the library for a special story time and photos. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Better Sleep Now (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ zoom: The Southborough Library and Jill Vroman Fitness & Wellness are offering a free, virtual Wellness workshop to the community. This session focuses on how to make slow, gradual changes to improve your sleep for better health and decision making. For details, see related post.
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

Wednesday, April 17, 2024

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Kids DIY “Mini” planter garden workshop (11:00 am – 12:30 pm) @ Gulbankian Florist, 40 Mt Vickery Rd: There is a registration fee and attendance is limited. For details, see related post.
  • Senior Movie Matinee: Next Goal Wins (12:30 – 2:30 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Pre-registration is required (and it may be full). For details, see related post.
  • Professor Bugman & the Arthropod Petting Zoo (time) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Registration is required for this program for ages 3 and older. Children will learn about (and be able to touch) anthropods. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Read to a Dog (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Children’s Room: Children preferably ages 5 and up with some reading ability will read to Perla, a certified therapy dog. Each child participating will have a chance to read a short book to Perla. Please register in the Children’s Room (or you can email kivers@southboroughma.com /call 508-485-5031).
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

  • 43rd Annual Senior Conference (7:30 am – 2:00 pm) @ Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, 215 Fitchburg St, Marlborough: Annual free conference hosted by State Senator Jamie Eldridge for seniors living in his district (which includes Southborough). It includes workshops, entertainment, exhibits and a free lunch. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Art Journaling (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Learn how to reuse old books as an art journal! For ages 14 and up. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Gardens That Work (6:30 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library’s outdoor pollinator garden: All are welcome to join the meeting of the Native Pollination Preservation Garden Club. This month members will work in the garden while discussing how ecological gardening differs from traditional methods. Bring your own garden gloves. (Other supplies will be provided.)
