The Algonquin boys lacrosse team pulled off a huge upset against Grafton on Saturday in their quarterfinal matchup. Sixth-ranked Algonquin beat third-ranked Grafton by a score of 9 to 7. Sophomore Connor Healey scored five of Algonquin’s goals, and fellow sophomore Dave McGovern scored two. Southborough Youth Baseball & Softball will kick off their spring season with a family picnic, fun, amusements, and a silent auction. It all happens at Mooney field from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Who knows if it’s our proximity to the starting line in Hopkinton, or all the 5K runs we hold in town that serve as training opportunities, but per capita, Southborough had more residents run the Boston Marathon this year than almost any other town in Massachusetts.
