  • Southborough Library closed
  • Chestnut Hill by Moonlight (6:00 – 7:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: This evening guided walk is themed “Hunkering Down for Winter”. Pre-registration (and fee) required. TTOR’s ranger will share winter preparedness tips, and teach about building emergency shelters before a moonlit hike under the bare winter trees. For details, see related post.

  • Kids! Turkey Trot (9:00 am check-in with 10:00 am races) @ Trottier Middle School: Southborough Kindergroup is hosting a free pre-Thanksgiving fun run. Kids of all ages are welcomed to join them for a series of fun runs. Age categories span from a stroller race to ages 8+. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Fall Health & Wellness Fair (10:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: The fair is free and open to all with no registration required. Snacks will be provided. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
  • Creativity Club (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough, Library Teen Room: Young adults ages 12 to 18 are invited to drop-in to work on creative projects. Craft materials will be available and writing prompts and projects provided. No pre-registration required.

  • Book Bugs: Farm Fun for Little Ones (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Pre-registration (and fee) required. For ages 2 to 5 years old, adult supervision required (siblings under 2 yrs old can attend for free). Bring your little bug to the farm for an interactive children’s story time. We’ll read a farm story, make a craft, and explore the farm! Each day will have a different theme. (Biweekly program.) For details, see related post.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
  • Senior Songsters (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ where: The Senior Center’s singing group’s weekly rehearsal. This friendly group is open to any senior who enjoys singing regardless of ability. (Those who prefer to listen can sit in.) For details, see related post.
  • Mooyah fundraiser for Unified BasketballUnified Basketball Mooyah fundraiser (11:00am – 9:00 pm) @ MOOYAH, 10010A Shops Way, Northborough: Mention Algonquin’s Unified Basketball fundraiser when ordering and a portion of net sales will be donated to the program.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Tuesday Tech Time (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: Each week, library staff and teen volunteers will make every effort to assist patrons with technology questions. Bring questions about ebooks and electronic resources. This is a drop in event; no registrations necessary. 
  • Teen Book Club (5:00 – 6:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: This monthly book club run by the Southborough Library for high schoolers requires pre-registration. For details, see related post.
  • Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
  • Teen Marijuana Use webinar flyerTeen Marijuana Use webinar (5:00 – 6:00 pm) @ zoom: NSBORO schools are promoting a presentation “Separating Facts and Fiction” sponsored by Be Well Northborough. The presentation to students and families is intended to dispel misconceptions about marijuana with an emphasis on dangers of chronic use. Attendees can submit questions.   • Young Scientists STEM Beginnings (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: 1st class in a free 6 week series for kids ages 3-6 to learn Science, Technology, Engineering and Math concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments.   • Senior Movie Matinee (12:30 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Pre-registration is required (and it may be full). A free screening of the comedy Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. An optional lunch precedes the movie. For details, see related post.
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

  • Pie Sale (8:00 am) @ outside Mauro’s Village Cafe, 2 Main St: First Community Church volunteers will be selling pies and other baked goods. They’ll be there until 11:00 am, or until they run out.
  • Electronic, Appliance, and Bicycle Recycle Day (9:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ Saint Anne’s Church parking lot, 20 Boston Road: Recycle Electronics and Appliances for a fee (cash or check), plus some items collected for free, including bicycles. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to St. Anne’s Church. For details see post on the prior event in May.
  • Open Lab for Ideas (10:30 – 12:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Biweekly program for 12-18 yr olds to explore how they can use Library equipment to take creative project ideas and make them a reality.
  • Read to a Dog (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library: Program preferably for kids ages 5 and up with some reading ability. Each month, children can sign up to read a short book to a certified therapy dog. Register at the Children’s Room desk or by contacting kivers@southboroughma.com or 508-485-5031.
  • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
  • Holiday Shopping Fair and Photo Shoot (9:00 am – 3:00 pm) @ Southborough Community House, 28 Main Street:Shop from more local artists and craftspeople and buy gifts for the holiday season. While you are there, have your holiday photo shoot. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Dodgeball Tournament (10:00 am – 7:30 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School gym, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough: description. Co-ed dodgeball competition for grades 1-8 – split by age group.   • Thanksgiving Interfaith Gathering (7:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s Parish Hall and Church, 27 Main St: Join Southborough Neighbors for Peace and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for an Interfaith services followed by a dessert reception. Donations are welcome for the Southborough Food Pantry. (See current needs list here.)
