  • Earth Day Cleanup (8:30 am – 12:00 pm): Southborough’s 31st Annual event to pick up trash along the Town’s roadways and public spaces.. For details, see dedicated post. Sponsored by Southborough Rotary Club. (This event is part of Southborough’s Planet Palooza celebration.) 
  • Earth Day Forest Bathing (10:00 – 11:30 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: A slow, mindful walk. “Using present moment awareness, deep breathing and conscious movement, our Mindful Outdoor Guide will invite participants to awaken their senses and receive the healing power of the forest.”.   • Hike with Goats (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Your reservation gets you and your group of family or friends an hour-long experience with a friendly goat on its own harness and leash. You will first learn how to walk with the goat, and then you’ll be accompanied by a farm staff member as you and your new goat friend make your way around the farm and its trails.   • Kid’s Church Dirt Day (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Pilgrim Church: Part of the congregational church’s Sunday School celebration of earth day. This session, they will fill our new raised gardening bed with soil in anticipation of planting seeds. Kids should wear clothes that can get dirty. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Cutler Jazz Festival (6:30 pm) @ where: St. Mark’s School’s annual spring jazz festival featuring a professional guest performer, the school’s jazz band, and a guest band. It is free and open to the public. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
  • Knitting Club (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Bi-monthly social knitting group. Beginners are welcome and supplies will be provided, though you can also bring your own and “any creation you are working on”. For planning purposes, the Senior Center is asking potential attendees to RSVP. For details, see related post.
  • Narcan Training (3:30 – 4:00 pm) @ This free session will provide participants with a brief training on how to recognize an opioid overdose, when and how to use Narcan, and a free kit to take home. The training is provided by clinicians within the Greater Boroughs Partnership for Health & Southborough Health Department. Registration is Required here.

  • Book Bugs: Farm Fun for Little Ones (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Pre-registration (and fee) required. For ages 2 to 5 years old, adult supervision required (siblings under 2 yrs old can attend for free). Bring your little bug to the farm for an interactive children’s story time. We’ll read a farm story, make a craft, and explore the farm! Each day will have a different theme. (Biweekly program.) For details, see related post.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Preschool Farm Explorers (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: For ages 2 years 9 months to 5 years old, Adult supervision required (discount for younger siblings and siblings under 1 yr old can attend for free) Your little farm explorers will become fully immersed in what life is like here at Chestnut Hill.   • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: This weekly story time is for children age 0-2 years and their parents or caregivers. Each session will include puppets, stories, and music. No registration required.
  • Blood Drive (12:00 – 6:30 pm) @ Southborough Library parking lot, 25 Main Street: Sign up for a time slot to donate blood to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital through the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center bloodmobile.   • NECC ART Show (7:00 – 9:00 pm) @ Community House, 28 Main St: A benefit for The New England Center for Children Inc. Attendance is free. Funds will be raised through the silent auction.   • Cancelled – new date TBD* – Garden Talk & Tour (1:00 – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Library lawn: The Open Space Preservation Commission will use the Pollination Preservation Garden on the Library’s grounds to describe native plants chosen for both ecological benefit and beauty and go over next steps, and volunteer opportunities.   • Superpowers of Forested Wetlands Guided Hike (1:00 – 2:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Join us for this informative guided hike to discover the superpower of forested wetlands – one of nature’s unique ecosystems. Learn about the wetlands role in creating a healthy environment and their superpowers as groundwater purifiers, nurseries and breeding grounds for important amphibians, and so much more.   • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.

  • Kid’s Church Garden Planning (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Pilgrim Church: Pilgrim Church’s Sunday School, “Kid’s Church” is celebrating Earth Day with special edcuational events this April to educate PreK-8th grade students about “God’s creation and our role in caring for it”.   • Chestnut Hill Farm CSA Open House (1:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Learn about Chestnut Hill Farm’s Community Supported Agriculture program. Event includes light refreshments, a chat with the farm manager, and a tour. For details, see related post.
  • Cancelled – new date TBD* – Town Forest Guided Nature Walks (1:30 – 2:45 pm or 3:30 – 4:45 pm) @ Southborough Town Forest: A family-friendly nature walk led by a naturalist and environmental and outdoor educator. Get to know the Town Forest trails, learn about native wildlife, observe and identify Plants, Trees, and signs of animals. Registration is required. This event is part of Southborough’s Planet Palooza celebration. For details, see related post.
  • Messy Church (4:00 – 6:00 pm) @ St Mark’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 27 Main St: A worship experience for busy families of younger kids. Includes a Bible story theme with activities, games, and crafts; a communion service geared toward kids; and a shared meal. For details, see dedicated post.
