Breakneck Hill cows in autumn

Earlier this week I went to the Breakneck Hill Conservation Land to visit the cows. And what friendly cows they are! Many came right over to the fence to say hello. Lucky for me, they’re not camera shy either.

Breakneck Hill Cow Fund Family Fun Run and Walk

Run for the belties at the second annual Breakneck Hill Cow Fund Family Fun Run and Walk on Sunday, November 1. It’s a 4K race at the Breakneck Hill Conservation Land. Registration is $10 and all proceeds go to support Southborough’s beloved belties.

Play poker, support the belties

The Breakneck Hill Cow Fund is sponsoring a charity Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournament on November 21 at the Woodville Rod and Gun Club in Hopkinton. This will be a great way to raise the funds necessary to get the cows through the winter and have some fun in the bargain.

Hay! It’s a tough time for cows, too

Food costs are up for everyone, including the Belties. Farmer Paul Bourdon says the price of hay has risen 50% over last year, and they’re having a tough time making ends meet. Bourdon talks about the challenges in a video on boston.com.
