Clayton Rock, 85, died Friday morning after a long period of failing health. He was the husband of Janice (Newton) Rock. John H. Luttrell Sr., 87, formerly of Natick, died Tuesday September 13, 2011 at Wayland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cochituate. He was born in Woonsocket, R.I., on Nov. 6, 1923, son of the late John M. and Eva (Brouillard) Luttrell, and attended local schools before becoming a newspaper copy boy for the Woonsocket Call. Selectmen to vote on interim fire chief
Sunday will be the last day on the job for Fire Chief John Mauro Jr., but his replacement isn’t expected to be hired until later this fall. That leaves the Board of Selectmen with a decision about how to run the department in the meantime. Tomorrow they’ll meet to talk about just that. The observance, which was held at Southborough’s 9/11 Memorial Field on Acre Bridge Road, was attended by town firefighters, police officers, veterans, clergy, selectmen and state representatives, scouts, and residents.
