There were a number of potential changes on the table last night as selectmen discussed Transfer Station operations – reduced hours, an increased sticker fee, new fees for disposal of bulky items, and a wintertime closure for the Swap Shop. Zoning board denies request by Gulbankian family to modify conditions
Saying they felt “duped” by the family, the Zoning Board of Appeals last night denied a request by the Gulbankian family to modify conditions imposed in a 2011 ruling. The family had asked the board to remove the requirement to pave a portion of their Mt. Vickery Road property and install a drainage system, saying the changes were expensive and unnecessary. Kolenda takes over as chairman of the Board of Selectmen

The Board of Selectmen has a new chairman. Historically, the board rotates the position, with the selectman in the final year of his or her elected term getting control of the gavel. Custom Automotive Engineering’s license to store fuel underground was revoked by Selectman at Tuesday evening’s meeting.
